Birdlegg
Selected as Blues Harmonica Player of the Year by the Bay Blues Society
in 2004, Birdlegg has been blowing the blues in the Bay Area for over 20
years. Fronting a group of great musicians, known as the Tight Fit Blues
Band, Birdlegg continues to win over new fans every day by keeping the
Blues alive.
Every Saturday, you can find Birdlegg at Dotha's Juke Joint located in the
famous Everett and Jones BBQ in Oakland's Jack London Square. Good
blues and good BBQ just go together and at Dotha's you get the best of
both!
Recently, Birdlegg brought out his inaugural CD, Meet Me on the Corner to
very favorable reviews. Presently, Birdlegg is in the studio working on a
new, highly anticipated CD to be released early next year.
Birdlegg has appeared in many major venues, including the San
Francisco Blues Festival, Mount Rushmore National Memorial Park and
tours of Europe.
Based on his deep belief in preserving the blues, one of the highlights of
Birdlegg's career was a project he did with Willie Dixon in bringing
teaching of blues to Oakland schools. Birdlegg continues to give lessons
in blues harmonica and mentors many young players.
A very high energy player, Birdlegg brings immediate excitement to any
event. He jumps off the stage, weaves his way through the crowd and
gets everyone involved in the song. This is a show not to be missed.
